Oti Mabuse has celebrated her daughter’s six-month birthday with an honest post about her premature arrival.

The former Strictly Come Dancing star and Dancing on Ice judge welcomed her first child with husband Marcus Iepure, 41, last year, with the couple announcing her arrival on Christmas day around nine weeks after she was born.

Oti gave birth two months early, and her daughter spent six weeks in neonatal intensive care.

Now they’ve reached a milestone moment in her life, she’s taken time to reflect on parenthood so far and the difficulties they’ve faced.

‘Today marks six months since our little miracle entered this world, defying the odds with her early arrival,’ wrote Oti, 33.

‘Being a mom to a premature baby has been a journey filled with ups and downs, but oh, the beauty in every moment!’

The mum-of-one then listed all the lessons she’s already learnt during motherhood.

‘I’m endlessly grateful for my daughter’s strength and resilience. She’s taught me more about love, courage, and gratitude than I ever thought possible.’

She continued: ‘Here’s to celebrating milestones, big and small, and cherishing the precious gift of motherhood. So appreciative of everyone who’s joined us on this incredible journey #PreemieMom #MiracleBaby #gratitude.’

To celebrate the occasion of their daughter reaching her half birthday, the parents tucked into two pieces of chocolate cake, which were adorned with a six candle. They definitely deserve every bite!

Not leaving out their daughter, they purchased a mini tiara with the word ‘Princess’ written boldly on it.

Oti was supported by friends, including fellow new parent Fleur East, who wrote: ‘You’re smashing it.’

‘Give her a big kiss from Sunderland,’ wrote Strictly dancer Nancy Xu. While her older sister and Strictly judge Motsi Mabuse simply commented a love heart emoji.

Oti suffered from sepsis which she was diagnosed with just after giving birth, and her daughter, whose name she has not publicly revealed, developed ‘infections’ in the womb due to the condition.

Speaking to the Sun on Sunday, Oti said her daughter ‘had to learn to breathe on her own properly, eat on her own, and that came with time.’

‘I got on with it and I had a lot of support from my family and friends, keeping me positive.’

The family recently spent some quality time together in Mallorca and were pictured looking perfectly relaxed on the beach.

Their time away came after Oti’s frank admission she’s ‘not ok’ with the thought of her child growing up.

Sharing a video on Instagram with tears in her eyes, she wrote: ‘Looking at myself on the train after I cried because the school near my house held an Easter parade for the kiddies and I already imagined my daughter moving out, going to study in university on another continent because she found out I tracked her on iPhone Find Me and wants independence.’

Adding a crying laughing emoji, she stated: ‘I’m not OK.’
