One man died and another was hurt after they slipped and fell into Lake Michigan near 31st Street Beach late Sunday.
Three men were walking on the beach around 11:05 p.m. when they all fell into the water, Chicago police said.
A witness and Chicago Fire Department personnel pulled the men out of the lake, police said.
One inhaled water and was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where he died, officials said. A second man also suffered water inhalation and was taken to Insight Hospital, where he was in fair condition.
The third man declined medical attention.
No further information was immediately available.
