One man died and another was hurt after slipping under the waters of Lake Michigan near 31st Street beach late Sunday.
Three men were walking on 31st Street Beach around 11:05 p.m. when they all fell into the water, Chicago police said.
A witness and Chicago Fire Department personnel pulled the men out of the water, police said.
One inhaled water and was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center where he died, officials said. A second man also suffered water inhalation and was taken to Insight Hospital where he was in fair condition.
The third man declined medical attention.
No further information was immediately available.
