10 best things to eat during Disneyland’s Halloween Time

Disneyland has rolled out more than 100 new Halloween-themed menu items to match all the spooky seasonal decor throughout the Anaheim theme park resort — even if the calendar still hasn’t reached Labor Day weekend.

Disneyland chefs kicked off Halloween Time on Friday, Aug. 21 with a new limited-time seasonal menu of eats, treats and drinks.

Disneyland Chef Elizabeth Ramos hosted the media for a preview of many of the new menu items available during Halloween Time.

The returning entertainment lineup includes the “Halloween Screams” fireworks show at Disneyland and “Mickey’s Trick and Treat” and “Storytellers of Plaza de la Familia” at Disney California Adventure.

All the Halloween attraction overlays you’ve known from seasons past are also back — including Haunted Mansion Holiday, Guardians of the Galaxy — Mission: Breakout, Mater’s Junkyard Jamboree and Luigi’s Rollickin’ Roadsters.

1) Mickey-shaped Ghost Cookie

“Mickey is obviously a very popular character. We love seeing him in all forms and shapes,” Ramos said. “We did have a Mickey-shaped popcorn bucket in the past where he was dressed as a ghost and this just makes it into a cookie form.”

Pastry tart filled with spiced cake and topped with cinnamon and sugar.

“A churro is something I have to get when I come into the park,” Ramos said. “This just gives it a fun new shape.”

“We’re going with a darker theme here for Halloween Time,” Ramos said. “Red velvet is a classic flavor. The chocolate and black ganache give it that darker autumn feel.”

“This is definitely classic Americana,” Ramos said. “Apple’s a very fall flavor as apples do come into season this time of year.”

Pork cheddar sausage, sauerkraut, caraway seeds and cheesy beer mustard sauce on a soft pretzel bun with Mandarin oranges or fries.

“You have the freshness and acidity of the sauerkraut paired with the warmth and depth that the cheese gives it,” Ramos said. “All on top of the pork cheddar sausage in a pretzel bun.”

“Mickey-shaped treats are classic Disney,” Ramos said. “We have the whipped topping with the golden cream-filled cookies and some sugar on top to give it a little fall color.”

“It is a monster with Muenster cheese,” Ramos said. “The olives make it look like it’s looking at you.”

“The pineapple gives it that brighter color,” Ramos said. “The chamoy gives it that oozy-like Halloween feeling.”

“The spiced chocolate powder gives it that extra depth that evokes the warmth that you want to get in the autumn,” Ramos said.

“We have had success with several different pull-apart breads over the past few months,” Ramos said. “Buffalo chicken is a very classic flavor that gives it that hint of spice. Again, we’re trying to warm you up for the fall.”
