Five people were shot and killed overnight in Chicago, according to Chicago police.
Ronald Hill, 35, was outside in the 4200 block of West Cermak Road in North Lawndale around midnight when an unknown person shot him in the chest and fled, according to police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office. Hill was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. No one has been arrested, according to police.
An hour later in Englewood, two men were outside in the 1400 block of West 65th Street when someone inside a light-colored sedan fired several shots at them. One of the men, 30, was taken in critical condition to University of Chicago Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. The second man, 32, was taken in serious condition to Advocate Christ Medical Center. No one has been arrested, according to police.
Then, about 3:40 a.m., a 38-year-old woman was in the 1300 block of West 13th Street in Little Italy with another person when they started arguing. The other person pulled out a gun and shot the woman in the chest, then fled. The woman was taken to Stroger Hospital, where she was pronounced dead. Police say no one has been arrested.
At around the same time in the Garfield Park neighborhood, another woman was arguing with an unknown man in the 3800 block of West Harrison Street when he shot her several times. He fled in a silver SUV. She was taken to Stroger, where she was pronounced dead. No one has been arrested, according to police.
Later, around 8:25 a.m., a 37-year-old man was walking outside in the 7900 block of South Lafayette Avenue when a person got out of a silver Honda sedan and shot him several times, according to police. He was taken to University of Chicago in critical condition, and was later pronounced dead.
