Three people were taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital after the car they were traveling in sideswiped another car, hit a median and burst into flames Thursday night in the Gold Coast neighborhood.
A blue car was going south in the 1000 block of North DuSable Lake Shore Drive around 9:05 p.m. when it sideswiped a black car going in the same direction, Chicago police said.
The blue car then hit a median and burst into flames, leaving three people in that vehicle injured.
A 21-year-old woman and two men, 22 and 20, were taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital for treatment, police said. Their conditions were not given by police.
The driver of the black sedan, a 45-year-old man, declined medical attention, officials said.
No further information was available.
