DETROIT — The White Sox put right-hander Davis Martin on the 15-day injured list with a blister on his finger and sent Tanner McDougal back to Triple-A Charlotte on Friday.
They also called up righty José Urquidy (ur-KEE-dee) and lefty Tyler Schweitzer from Charlotte.
Martin developed the blister on his middle finger Thursday during the Sox’ 9-8 loss to the Reds. He blamed it and poor command for beaning the Reds’ Sal Stewart, which got him ejected in the third inning. Stewart had homered in the first, and the umpires deemed Martin intended to hit him after throwing up and in before grazing the bill of his helmet.
