Six people were shot early Sunday on Chicago’s South and West sides — three of whom died from their injuries and two were critically wounded, Chicago police said.
First responders found a man in New City unresponsive and suffering from several gunshot wounds around midnight, police said. He was pronounced dead at the scene in the 4500 block of South Honore Street.
Just before 2 a.m. in Austin, a 32-year-old man was found fatally shot in the 300 block of South Kilpatrick Avenue, police said. The man, who was shot in his temple, was pronounced dead at the scene.
About 20 minutes later, a 29-year-old man was standing outside a car in Little Village when a person drove passed and shot him in the head, according to police. He was pronounced dead at the scene in the 2800 block of South Kedzie Avenue.
No additional details about any of the deaths were reported.
Three people were shot in the Garfield Park neighborhood around 1:45 a.m. Officers responding to a call for shots fired found a 45-year-old man unresponsive in the 3400 block of West Carroll Avenue. The man, suffering from gunshot wounds to his arm and hip, was taken in critical condition to Mount Sinai Hospital.
Two people later walked into Mount Sinai with injuries from the same shooting, police said. One of them, a 46-year-old man, is in critical condition suffering from several gunshot wounds to his leg. The other, a 34-year-old man, is in fair condition with a gunshot to his knee, police said.
No arrests have been made in any of the shootings, according to police.
