Three teenage boys have been charged with committing multiple armed robberies and a carjacking Thursday across the South Side.
The five separate incidents happened between 6:30 and 7:10 a.m. in the Grand Boulevard, Oakland, South Shore and Washington Park neighborhoods, Chicago police said.
The three boys, ages 13, 16 and 17, all face the same charges: one felony count each of vehicular hijacking, attempted armed robbery and aggravated battery. They’re also each charged with three felony counts of armed robbery with a firearm and four felony counts of armed robbery with a dangerous weapon.
According to police, the incidents happened at these times and locations, and involved the following victims:
- 6:30 a.m. in the 3800 block of South Ellis Avenue; 29-year-old female victim
- 6:43 a.m. in the 5800 block of South Calumet Avenue; 39-year-old female victim
- 6:44 a.m. in the 100 block of East 49th Street; 48-year-old female victim and 59-year-old male victim
- 6:51 a.m. in the 4600 block of South Wabash Avenue; 32-year-old female victim
- 7:10 a.m. in the 6800 block of South Paxton Avenue; 66-year-old female victim
The boys were arrested later Thursday morning in the 13000 block of South Ellis Avenue, police said.
