Altadena leaders are encouraging residents to register for the second-annual Altadena Forever Run, coming up in January.
Monday — today — is the last day to get early bird pricing for the run, which takes place Jan. 10, presented by SoCalGas and sponsored by an array of organizations, including the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Athletic Association and Rotary Club of Altadena.
The run, which will happen in conjunction with the second anniversary of the Eaton fire, raises money for Altadena’s fire survivors, giving participants a chance to take part in either a 10K, 5K or 1K Family Walk.
New this year is the chance for people to also take part as fundraising teams – that is, by creating or joining a fundraising team through the event’s GoFundMe Community Page.
Last year, even in the rain, the event drew more than 3,000 people.
Organizers said 100% of direct donations and funds raised by fundraising teams will go to support Altadena Eaton Fire survivors.
The event’s main address is Mariposa Junction, 849 E. Mariposa Street, Altadena.
