Kane County authorities are performing a “forensic excavation” at a South Elgin home in an attempt to find a teenage girl who has been missing for a decade.
Kane County State’s Attorney Jamie Mosser said ground penetrating radar scans at the residence on the 800 block of Revere Road revealed “anomalies” beneath the surface the detectives believe warranted further examination.
A portion of Revere Road is closed off.
South Elgin police and the Fox Valley Major Crimes Task Force are conducting the search.
