Barbecued brisket at Panda Express and more new things to try

Summer doesn’t officially arrive until June 21, but at Chick-fil-A, it arrives on Monday, June 8.

That’s when Peach Milk Shakes make their annual return to the Atlanta-based fast food chain.

Rosemead-based Panda Express is also making news with a new protein.

Panda Express: Cantonese BBQ Brisket will be available through Aug. 10. It’s “the most ‘American Chinese’ dish we’ve ever made,” Jimmy Wang, executive director of culinary innovation, said in a news release. Made with a char siu-style barbecue sauce, this chunky dish is all meat with no vegetables, packing 44 grams of protein per serving.
