Bay Area News Group boys athlete of the week: Micah Boo, American baseball

American baseball player Micah Boo is the Bay Area News Group’s boys high school athlete of the week for March 25-30.

In online voting that ended at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Boo had 42.46% of the vote to finish ahead of runner-up Ollie Obenour, a baseball player from Leigh, who took second at 31.19%.

Congratulations to all the candidates for this week’s recognition.

Boo, a sophomore left-hander, pitched a complete game with 10 strikeouts to help lead American to an 8-1 league victory over Mission San Jose. In two games during the week at the plate, he was 3 for 8 with a double and drove in three runs.
