Bears’ Rome Odunze among stars in Adidas’ ‘Speed Broker’ ad campaign

Expect to see even more of Bears receiver Rome Odunze on your television screen this year.

The Bears receiver is part of Adidas’ national campaign, entitled “Speed is Money” and starring Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson. Johnson plays a “speed broker” who keeps track of nine fast football players, including six who play in the NFL —Jaguars receiver/cornerback Travis Hunter, Buccaneers receiver Emeka Egbuka, Lions receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown, Jets receiver Garrett Wilson, Falcons tight end Kyle Pitts and Odunze. The ad features a member of the USA women’s flag football team and two high school players.

Adidas signed Odunze to its athlete roster the night of the 2024 draft, when the Washington receiver was picked ninth overall by the Bears. He and Michael Penix Jr., another Adidas athlete, played together at Washington, which was also sponsored by the shoe company.

Odunze struggled with a foot injury last season, finishing with 44 catches for 661 yards in 12 games.
