Horror footage taken inside the bank shows her holding his head up and trying to make him sign the loan papers

Newly surfaced CCTV now shows Erika, 42, leaving a building with the chair ready to collect his body from the taxi before the bizarre scam.

The taxi driver holds open the car door as she tries to haul him from the seat before heading to the bank on Tuesday.

For several agonising moments she wrestles with his corpse in the passenger seat before the driver is forced to help.

Eventually they manage to get his stiff body onto the chair before she pays the taxi driver for the ride.

Two people walk past and pause to look back at the disturbing scene, exchanging a few words with the woman, Erika de Souza.

After walking into the bank with her dead uncle in tow, Erika pretends to have a conversation with him in front of horrified staff.

She even tells him to “stop giving her a headache” and “sign here” on forms for a £2,600 loan.

His head could be seen tilting back and forth, his eyes were closed and his mouth remained frozen open throughout the grim ordeal.

At one point she says: “Uncle, are you listening? You have to sign it. I can’t sign for you.”

But workers at the bank quickly picked up on the sick situation.

One said: “I don’t think this is legal. He doesn’t look well. He’s very pale.”

Erika snapped back: “He’s like that,” before asking her uncle if he was feeling unwell and wanted to go to the hospital.

Quickly the bank workers grew suspicious and one woman starts filming before calling an ambulance.

Paramedics soon confirmed that Paulo Roberto Braga, 68, had died before she took him into the bank.

Erika insists she didn’t know he was dead at the time she went to the bank on Tuesday afternoon.

But a medical examiner said he passed between 11.30am and 2.30pm that day.

The forensic pathologist couldn’t confirm whether he died on the way to the bank or earlier on.

Other footage showed Erika wheeling him around in a chair the day before.

It is not known what his condition was at the time.

Cops soon arrested Erika for the scam and revealed she had tried to take out a loan for 7,000 Brazilian Reais (£2,600), local media reports.

Police chief Fabio Luiz said: “The investigation is continuing to identify other family members and to find out if he was alive when the loan was arranged and when it dates from.”

Erika has been accused of attempted theft by way of fraud and desecration of a corpse.
