Matthew, 52, had called 999 to report his former sister-in-law when she showed up at his pub, the Hare and Hounds, in Maidstone, Kent.

Jurors were shown footage of him on the phone before Langley smacked it out of his hand.

Just seconds later, she allegedly knifed Matthew twice in the back and once in the chest.

Maidstone Crown Court heard the pair had no contact with each other for 21 years until four months before the September horror.

Langley had allegedly turned up at the pub in May last year but was told to leave after making threats.

Then on September 11, Langley’s son Cameron Langley-McColm told her he would be playing pool at the pub.

She replied: “Enjoy your pool with the w****r”.

Langley later added: “I’ll see you there. Crazy mum remember.”

She arrived at the pub at 5.53pm and told a customer Matthew was serving: “Get a drink while he is still alive.”

Jurors heard Matthew, who had remarried, ordered Langley to leave the premises – causing her to respond: “You’re dead tonight.”

She returned at around 6.05pm while Matthew was on the phone to police calmly telling them his sister-in-law had threatened to kill him.

Langley then approached him, causing the landlord to ask the operator if they would like to speak to her.

After he was attacked, Matthew could be heard saying “I’ve been stabbed” while still on the phone.

The court heard the time between the phone being knocked from his hands a knife falling to the ground was 24 seconds.

Langley was arrested and began shouting: “Get away from me, I want to stab him. I killed him. I don’t care. I want him dead…I’m just so happy. I hate him so much… I hope he dies.”

Jurors were told she had previously accused Matthew of violence and rape but there is no evidence he was a threat to her.

Langley admits possessing a knife but denies both murder and an alternative charge of manslaughter.

The trial continues.
