A teenage boy was hurt in a shooting in the Garfield Ridge neighborhood early Sunday, police said.
The boy, 16, was in the driver’s seat of a parked car near a gathering in the 5100 block of South Major Avenue around 2:30 a.m. when someone fired shots, according to Chicago police. The boy felt pain in his right calf and started to drive away, police said.
He was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in fair condition.
No one is in custody and detectives are investigating.
