New York’s famed Double Chicken Please cocktail bar lands in LA for just 2 days

New York’s stylish Double Chicken Please bar is heading to Los Angeles and is booking a spot at a trendy boutique hotel for a quick two-day party trip. On Aug. 13-14, the Lower East Side spot will take over the bar at the hotel’s signature restaurant Ardor as Double Chicken bartenders serve their award-winning cocktails from 6 to 10 p.m.

Those who can get in will be sipping on special summer creations like the Tomajito, a Bacardi Superior Rum mix of tomato vine, tomatillo, mint, makrut lime leaf and soda. Serious drinkers will want to try the Gilded Orchard, made with the exceptional Dewars 12-year-old Scotch, truffle honey apple, passionfruit and clarified milk, which is a mix of  whole milk and acidic ingredients like citrus juice. Another drink made with the 12-year-old Scotch is the Dorayaki, which also includes Angel’s Envy bourbon, amontillado sherry, red bean, corn, barley tea and lychee.

Tequila drinkers will get a shot of spicy fun here with the Holy Shishito, a drink made with Patron Silver Tequila, Acqua di Cedro, Ayuuk, charred shishito kabosu, bell pepper, kiwi and wasabi. Or they can go a bit more tropical with the Papaya Salad, a mixture of Patrón Silver Tequila, peanut, fish sauce tamarind, kumquat cherry tomato, coconut and clarified milk. We assume this is healthy since it has the word salad in it, but probably not.

And while every Angeleno despises the DMV, Double Chicken will make the experience enjoyable with the DMV, a sophisticated drink with Bombay Sapphire Gin, Grey Goose Vodka, olive, fennel, and makrut lime leaf.

The pop-up bar is open on a first-come, first-served basis but people can also make reservations, which is probably a smart idea since this chicken flies back to the East Coast after just two days.

Ardor is at 9040 W. Sunset Blvd., West Hollywood. For more information go to editionhotels.com/weho
