A five-year-old boy has died after a Ford Fiesta ploughed into him on a road in Cornwall.

The incident happened on the A390, at Penpillick Hill, near the town of St Austell, at 4.50pm, on Thursday.

Devon and Cornwall Police said they were called to reports of a crash involving a pedestrian and a car.
