Breaking down the Bears’ first depth chart of the preseason

The Bears haven’t picked a starting left tackle, officially or unofficially.

The team listed all three candidates as potential starters on the depth chart they released Tuesday. For what it’s worth, the order on the two-deep lines up with the amount of snaps each has taken with the first team — it reads “Braxton Jones OR Jedrick Wills Jr. OR Kiran Amegadjie.”

The Bears, of course, insist their two-deep is far from official. Rather, they’re required to post it in advance of Saturday’s preseason opener against the Browns at Soldier Field. Most of the Bears starters are unlikely to play much, if at all, on Saturday.

Dayo Odeyingbo is listed as the starting defensive end opposite Montez Sweat. He figures to bump inside on passing downs so Austin Booker can take his place at end.

Safety Coby Bryant, who will be out the next two months with a knee injury, is still listed as a starter, as is wide receiver Luther Burden, who will miss the rest of the preseason with a groin problem. Players on the Physically Unable to Perform list, such as slot cornerback Kyler Gordon, aren’t listed on the roster.
