The dad-of-two reportedly fell while working out at a gym early Thursday morning, according to BirminghamLive.

After the freak fall, he was left unable to move and couldn’t feel one side of his body.

He was rushed to the hospital and put in an induced coma as his family had to fork out £3,000 for his care.

His fiancee and kids remain by his side as they try to scrape up additional £24,000 for further treatment as they do not have travel insurance.

Fiancee Anna Ryan, 41, told BirminghamLive: “He went back to sleep and when he woke up he couldn’t stand – it looked like he’d had a stroke. We called an ambulance and he was rushed to hospital.”

The forklift operator from Birmingham planned a last-minute getaway with his family to Turkey on Wednesday.

He received a surgery on Thursday for the brain bleed but remains in a critical condition.

Anna was told to pay £24,000 for the operation with additional £1,500 a day for four weeks of recovery.

She said: “I’m being asked to pay loads of money I don’t have.

“They want £24,000 for surgery and then it’s four weeks of recovery which we’d need to fund too.

“We don’t have that kind of money – I don’t know what to do.

“Something like this has never happened to me. We need as much help as we can get.”

The family has since set up a GoFundMe page to help with the costs, and nearly £10,000 have been raised already.

The fundraiser organiser, Cherry Ryan, wrote: “Due to the language barrier we believed it was a success, however they were unable to remove all the mass on his brain from the brain bleed and he remains in a critical condition.”

Well-wishers have flocked to leave touching tributes for Marlon as he recovers from his surgery.

One person said: “Having had a fall only last night whilst on holiday I really feel for you, I was very lucky and ended up with stitches only but I would like to think there would have been someone there for me too. Best of luck to you all x”

Another one wrote: “Get well soon soldier I’m praying for you.”

“Marlon, wishing you a full and speedy recovery. From all the team at RCM Ltd,” someone else added.

In a similar incident, a Brit holidaymaker was left paralysed and stranded in hospital thousands of miles from home.

Charline Edwards, 24, was told she had to fork out £38,000 to be flown back from Cape Verde after being taken out by a wave and smashing her spine on the seabed.

Another Brit got seriously injured after a dangerous stunt had gone awry in a Tenerife beauty spot.

The man was stretchered away from the scene after plunging from a cliff crashing into rocks below.
