One of London’s busiest routes has been closed for hours after a fatal incident overnight.

The Victoria Embankment has been closed since around 2am following a deadly incident.

A man in his 20s is believed to have fallen from a height, Metropolitan Police told Metro.

The force said: ‘Police were called by the London Ambulance Service at 02:06hrs on Thursday, 25 June to Victoria Embankment, following reports of a man believed to have fallen from a height.

‘Enquiries remain ongoing and a scene is in place.’

The death is thought to be unexpected but not suspicious, Metro understands.

Another cordon is in place on the cycle path outside Temple Underground station.
