Coachella 2026: Radiohead bunker sees influx on final festival day

No Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival is like the others. In part because of the music lineup as well as the arts installations throughout the Empire Polo Club grounds in Indio. This year also saw the addition of an underground bunker near the Sahara tent.

From the outside, it looks like a man-made hill to give festival goers a new view to see performances. However, inside the bunker is being used to host an immersive experience of Radiohead’s albums “Kid A” and “Amnesiac.”

The experience had the option to book reservations as well as a standby line for the various time slots throughout the day. However, halfway through weekend two, reservations were booked out.

While the standby line remained an option, Sunday, April 19, the final day of the festival saw large lines for the bunker.

Part of it was because of the warmer temperatures, with a high of 92 degrees. Because the bunker has A/C, the cool temperatures drew in festival goers, and also meant they wanted to stay in the area longer than had been on previous days.

The experience is timed, and so because of this they can only let in so many people during a slot, and also have to wait to let in the next group after everyone in the previous session has left. Wait times were said to range from 45 minutes to an hour long on the final day.

However, for those still hoping to check the art installation out, it seemed hopeful that there would be better chances for short lines for later shows as more festival goers would likely be using the time to watch some of the bigger acts on stage like Karol G, Laufey and Iggy Pop.
