A Yellow Line train struck a vehicle that “improperly entered” tracks at a crossing Tuesday afternoon, the CTA said.
Service was resuming after the collision, which happened shortly after 1 p.m. in Skokie at a grade crossing, the CTA said. No passengers were hurt.
Skokie fire and police department spokespersons did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
Shuttle buses were requested from Skokie to Howard to provide connecting service through the affected area after the crash, the CTA said.
The CTA recommended that commuters consider service alternatives, such as nearby bus routes, including the No. 97 Skokie, to other rail lines.
