NEW YORK – The series-opening game between the Cubs and Mets was washed away by rain Monday night.
A soggy night in the Big Apple meant no contest between the two teams, who will now play four games in three days, with a doubleheader set for Wednesday. Game 1 will start at 12:10 p.m. Central, and Game 2 will begin at 6:10 Central.
The Cubs were forced into back-to-back unscheduled days off after Sunday’s game against the Blue Jays at Wrigley Field was rained out.
