Disneyland brings back a popular perk everyone has been waiting for

Disneyland will soon end an unpopular rule from the COVID-19 era after five years of restrictions that limited parkhopping between the Anaheim theme parks as a way to manage crowds and balance attendance.

Disneyland will eliminate a rule starting on June 9 that restricted parkhopping until after 11 a.m. in an effort to simplify the visitor experience.

The rule change will bring back a popular perk that allowed daily visitors and Magic Key annual passholders to cross between Disneyland and Disney California Adventure at any time.

Daily visitors and Magic Keyholders will still need to designate a park when they make a reservation — but they will be able to start their visit at Disneyland or Disney California Adventure at park opening.

Daily visitors and passholders will still be required to make reservations once the parkhopping restrictions are lifted on June 9.

Disney will maintain the option to restrict parkhopping at any time depending on availability at Disneyland or Disney California Adventure.

The reopening of Disneyland and DCA in April 2021 following the yearlong pandemic shutdown introduced attendance capacity limits, reservation requirements and restrictions that limited parkhopping to after 1 p.m.

The parkhopping restrictions were pushed back to 11 a.m. in February 2023.

Daily visitors that pay extra for parkhopping tickets and Magic Key annual passholders can visit both parks.

For decades before the pandemic there were no time restrictions on parkhopping between Disneyland and DCA for annual passholders or daily visitors.
