Disneyland honors U.S. military with F-18 flyover and Navy marching band
Disneyland honored more than 100 U.S. Navy and Marine Corps service members during Los Angeles Fleet Week with a parade down Main Street U.S.A. featuring a Navy marching band and a flyover by a pair of F-18 fighter jets.
Disneyland hosted the largest military-themed ceremony in recent years on Thursday, May 21 at the Anaheim theme park.

Service members rode the Mark Twain Riverboat and Jungle Cruise and posed for photos with Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse in their new patriotic attire.

The centerpiece of the event was the daily flag retreat ceremony in Disneyland’s Town Square honoring U.S. veterans and active-duty service members — a park tradition since its grand opening in 1955.
The Los Angeles Fleet Week visit was part of a series of nationwide Disney Celebrates America events leading up the country’s 250th anniversary on July 4.
