Driver cracks newly paved church parking lot in Saratoga

Vandalism: An employee reported that someone drove recklessly through the parking lot of Church of the Ascension on Miller Avenue after the parking lot was recently repaved, causing damage. The total amount of damage was approximately $41,000.

April 19

Vehicle tampering, grand theft: Between 10 p.m. on April 18 and 9 a.m. on April 19, someone tampered with a vehicle parked in the 13000 block of Beaumont Avenue and stole a catalytic converter for a total loss estimated at approximately $2,500.

Vehicle tampering, grand theft: At 2 a.m., someone tampered with a vehicle parked in the 12000 block of Sumner Drive and stole a catalytic converter for a total loss estimated at approximately $5,000.

Petty theft, recovered stolen license plate: At 4:27 p.m., deputies responded to an automated license plate reader notification for a vehicle with a stolen license plate at Saratoga Avenue and Kosich Drive. An investigation revealed the license plate was stolen from a vehicle in Santa Clara and was still outstanding. The vehicle was located a short time later in the 14000 block of Andrew Court, and further investigation revealed the vehicle’s true plate was also stolen and replaced with the plate stolen from Santa Clara.

April 20

Residential burglary: Between 7 p.m. on April 19 and 11:30 a.m. on April 20, someone entered a residence in the 19000 block of Sea Gull Court by breaking a rear sliding glass door. It is unknown if anything was stolen.

April 21

Possession of a switchblade knife, under the influence of a controlled substance: At 12:43 p.m., deputies responded to a disturbance at a residence in the 19000 block of Three Oaks Way. An investigation revealed the suspect was in possession of a switchblade knife and under the influence of a controlled substance. The suspect, who also had an outstanding warrant, was arrested.
