Magic Mountain will bring the elaborate death sequences from the Final Destination films to Fright Fest as the Six Flags park continues to build upon its lineup of haunted mazes based on blockbuster horror franchises in its growing Halloween showdown with Universal Studios Hollywood.
The new Final Destination: Death’s Playground haunted maze will join the lineup during Fright Fest 2026 that runs on select nights from Sept. 18 through Nov. 1 at the Valencia amusement park.

Fright Fest 2026 at Magic Mountain will feature seven mazes, seven scare zones and two shows.
Final Destination: Death’s Playground will be joined by haunted houses based on the Conjuring Universe and Trick ‘r Treat horror franchises along with four other original mazes.
This year’s Fright Fest headliners will go head-to-bloody-severed-head with a Universal Studios Hollywood lineup that includes haunted houses based on Stranger Things, Sinners, Evil Dead, Hellraiser and a tribute to Ozzy Osbourne.
Every night of Fright Fest will start with a new “Unleashed” opening scaremeony starring a new icon character known as Kurvatu.
The new “Nytewalkers” show will combine BMX stunts with street-style dance and acrobatics.

The Final Destination: Death’s Playground maze will follow the formula of the franchise’s six films that start with a terrifying premonition leading to a series of increasingly elaborate and grim deaths.
The 2006 “Final Destination 3” featured a premonition of a catastrophic derailment on the Devil’s Flight roller coaster at a fictional amusement park.
The Conjuring Universe maze that debuted in 2024 at Magic Mountain will be back again during this year’s Fright Fest with updated scenes and elements.
Fright Fest visitors who team up with paranormal investigators probing cases that inspired the Conjuring Universe will find themselves possessed by evil spirits in the returning maze.

The Conjuring Universe includes four Conjuring movies, three Annabelle movies and two Nun movies.
The film franchise dramatizes the exploits of real-life paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren and creates origin stories for the spirits they encountered.
Four other Six Flags parks will get Conjuring: Beyond Fear escape rooms that will offer a different experience than Magic Mountain’s Conjuring haunted maze.
Fright Fest visitors in the returning Trick ‘r Treat maze at Magic Mountain will run into a prankster boogeyman with a burlap sack on his head whenever they break the “rules” of Halloween.
Magic Mountain will also tear a page out of the playbook of sister-park Knott’s Berry Farm with an original Wolves Blood werewolf-themed haunted house created by Knott’s Scary Farm maze designer Gus Krueger.

Concert-goers on their way to an invitation-only show by the fictional rock band Wolves Blood will be attacked by werewolves as they pass through ransacked stores, barroom brawls and haunted cemeteries in the new maze.
Krueger worked on the Eight Fingers Nine: The Boogeyman, Cinema Slasher and Chilling Chambers haunted mazes at Knott’s Scary Farm.
The returning Carnage maze that debuted during Fright Fest 2025 will take visitors inside a fortress run by a villainous clown who rules over the City Under Siege scare zone in the DC Universe area of the park.
Vault 666 and Willoughby’s Resurrected round out the Fright Fest haunted house lineup as the two other returning mazes.
The seven returning scare zones include City Under Siege, Plaza de la Muerte, Devil’s Triangle, Exile Hill, Thunderbolt Alley, Underworlds of Oz and Nightmares: Reign of Blood
The biggest parks in the Six Flags chain will also roll out haunted mazes this Halloween season based on major horror movie and video game franchises.

- The Conjuring: Beyond Fear — Cedar Point, Carowinds, Canada’s Wonderland and Kings Island

- Blair Witch: No Signal — Six Flags Great America
- Army of the Dead — Six Flags Great Adventure
- The Stranger: No Escape — Six Flags Over Texas
- Diablo: The Infernal Path — Carowinds and Kings Dominion
Six Flags Great America was home to a Texas Chainsaw Massacre haunted house during Fright Fest in 2024 and 2025 based on the 2022 Netflix film.
Magic Mountain began featuring mazes based on major Hollywood intellectual properties starting in 2023 — including Saw, Stranger Things and Army of the Dead haunted houses.
It will be interesting to see if haunted houses based on the Jason Universe, Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Blair Witch horror franchises make their way to Magic Mountain during future Fright Fest events.
