A Back of the Yards neighborhood fire that erupted Thursday morning in a vacant home left four firefighters injured — three of them seriously.
The residential building started burning about 11:30 a.m. in the 5400 block of South Justine Street, according to a Chicago Fire Department spokesperson.
While fighting the fire, four firefighters were injured, three seriously, according to the spokesperson. The fourth was listed in good condition at a hospital.
The building was not demolished and the fire didn’t spread to other buildings.
