Governor offers $50K rewards to solve cold case killings in Orange County, Pasadena and LA
The governor’s office today offered $50,000 rewards for information that solves any of more than two dozen cold cases across the state, including two each in Los Angeles and Orange counties.
“Every family deserves answers and justice,” Gov. Gavin Newsom said in a statement. “These rewards send a message that every case matters, every victim matters, and that we are all working toward increased accountability. If you know something, it is your duty to come forward.”
The local cases included in the rewards offers are:
— The Aug. 11, 1993, killing of Alan Schwalbe, 61, who was stabbed in his home on the 300 block of 22nd Street in an unincorporated area near Costa Mesa. Anyone with information should contact the Orange County Sheriff’s Department at 714-647-7046 or coldcase@ocsheriff.gov.
