Two people have died, and four, including two children, were left seriously injured in a shooting near a popular Spanish coastal resort.
The victims include a seven-month-old baby who has been rushed to a hospital intensive care unit.
The incident occurred late last night in El Canalillo, between Balanegra and El Ejido, in the south-east province of Almeria.
The area is close to Almerimar, a popular tourist destination on the Costa de Almeria known for its sandy beaches, which features one of Andalucia’s largest marinas.
The seven-month-old baby injured in the shooting is said to be in a ‘very serious’ condition at Torrecardenas University Hospital, the main public hospital in Almeria, after being shot twice.
The other minor injured, also in the same intensive care unit, is understood to be an 18-month-old toddler.
