The group of young men battered a petrol station worker on Wellington Road South as he cowered behind the counter.

After punching and kicking the innocent worker the yobs threw furniture at him.

They then fled the scene after trashing the shop, running off with £600 worth of stock.

After police obtained the Snapchat video, -and cross referenced it with CCTV footage – it was revealed that Kausar Amin, Bradley Maphosa, Riley Richardson and Tyler Garforth were responsible for the attack.

The yobs entered the garage during the early hours of July 29, 2021 when they stole e-cigarette liquid.

But after one of the men realised he had left his phone in the garage, they returned to the scene and carried out the senseless attack on the worker.

Amin, 22, of Tate Street, Oldham, was sentenced to two years for robbery.

Maphosa, 20, of Middlewood Street, Salford, was locked up in a young offender institute for two years after pleading guilty to robbery.

Garforth, 19, of Henley Street, Chadderton, Oldham, was sentenced to detention in a young offender institution for 13 months suspended for 24 months after pleading guilty to one count of robbery.

Riley Richardson, 19, of Salts Street, Oldham, pleaded guilty to one count of robbery, and was sentenced to 13 months in prison, suspended for 24 months.

Detective Constable Lucy Williams of our Stockport district said; “After our detailed investigation into this incident,
I’m glad we’ve managed to bring those people who took part in the unprovoked attack on a shop worker to justice.

“Their actions on that day were completely out of order and fuelled by rage over a minor incident where they went out with
the intent to steal and ultimately cause harm.

“Hopefully, this will send a reminder to those who want to break the law that this will be not tolerated and provide some
reassurance to shop workers that your safety and protection is important to us.

“We are determined to keep our local community safe from these kinds of incidents.

“The bravery of the victim and the support received was crucial to getting this result and I would also like to thank the
public who helped us during our appeal process.

“The evidence gathered did help us bring these people in front of the courts and make sure they had to answer for their actions.”
