Callum Turner is having quite the year, and he is topping it off with a top-shelf Scotch partnership. The rising British actor has officially been named the new Global Ambassador for Johnnie Walker Blue Label, landing a year-long deal that puts him front and center for the venerable booze brand.
As part of the gig, Turner will star in a series of intimate portraits and short films showcasing how he toasts his biggest personal milestones, along with a trip to Scotland to get a firsthand look at how the rare blend is crafted from just one in ten thousand casks.
The high-profile endorsement comes during a whirlwind moment for the ascending Hollywood star. Turner recently tied the knot with pop superstar Dua Lipa, with high-profile ceremonies in both London and Sicily, and his on-screen career is also heating up.
Turner, who has been rumored to be in the running to be the next James Bond and also appears in campaigns for Louis Vuitton, stars in the summer romantic comedy One Night Only and is the lead role in Apple TV’s upcoming adaptation of Neuromancer.
“The ethos of Johnnie Walker Blue Label is one that I’ve always admired,” Turner said in a statement shared by the Scotch brand. “With only one in ten thousand casks ever making it in, that level of care is what sets it apart. Blue Label is the first bottle I reach for when celebrating with my mates, and now to officially be in partnership is a real honor.”
Neil Shah, Global Brand Director at Johnnie Walker, added: “For over 200 years, Johnnie Walker has championed progress in all its forms, and Johnnie Walker Blue Label stands as its ultimate expression. Callum embodies that same spirit: quietly persistent, endlessly dedicated to his craft, forging his own path while staying true to his roots.”
The newly-minted celebrity spirits collab is about as rarefied as it gets: Only 1 in 10,000 casks from Johnnie Walker’s reserves of aging Scotch, including some from long-closed “ghost” distilleries, is considered to have the “remarkable depth of character” needed for Blue Label, according to the company.
