LAS VEGAS — The Lakers’ bid for an NBA Summer League championship ended with a 92-88 semifinal loss to the Golden State Warriors on Saturday night.
Adou Thiero led the Lakers with 18 points, 10 rebounds, three assists and three steals while making all six of his shots from the field.
Rookie Cameron Carr added 17 points, while Arthur Kaluma finished with 12 points and four rebounds.
The game featured 18 lead changes, and neither team led by double digits. The Lakers carried a three-point lead into the fourth quarter, but the Warriors opened the period with an 8-0 run.
The Lakers twice cut the deficit to one in the final minute, but three late turnovers prevented them from completing the comeback.
Graham Ike had 16 points and 11 rebounds for the Warriors, who advanced to face the Memphis Grizzlies in Sunday’s championship game. LJ Cryer added 16 points, Yaxel Lendeborg scored 15 and Chance McMillian had 14 while making all four of his 3-point attempts.
Golden State handed the Lakers both of their losses this summer.
