Nightly lane closures will continue for the next couple of weeks on Pacific Coast Highway between Redondo Beach and Santa Monica.
Construction is being performed on the right lane from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. through Friday, according to Caltrans.
The lane closures, which began Monday, will facilitate pavement rehabilitation, Americans with Disabilities Act curb ramp upgrades, trenching and installation of new electrical systems for traffic lights and signals, Caltrans said.
Contractors will also be constructing sidewalks, upgrading gutters and drainage systems and adding new lane striping.
Work will be performed on the right lane in each direction.
Through Aug. 14, one southbound lane of the Lincoln Boulevard portion of PCH will be closed between Venice Boulevard and Machado Drive and one northbound lane will be closed between Dewey Street and Venice Boulevard.
“Residents and local businesses located nearby may experience noise, vibrations and grinding associated with construction activities,” Caltrans announced.
Detour signs will be posted and motorists should expect delays and are advised to use alternate routes.
