Two vehicles collided on the Dan Ryan Expressway Monday morning, leaving one person dead and at least one person injured.
About 8:15 a.m. two vehicles crashed in the inbound express lanes at 55th Street, according to a statement from the Illinois State Police. One person has died and at least one person was injured, according to the statement.
The crash forced the closure of the northbound express lanes from 71st Street up to the crash site, but as of about 1 p.m. Monday all lanes had reopened, according to a statement from the city’s Office of Emergency Management and Communication.
