A Chicago man has been charged with attempted first degree murder after a 26-year-old woman was stabbed and seriously injured during a home invasion last week in Austin.
Police arrested Vincent Zuniga, 35, on Tuesday. His detention hearing is scheduled for Thursday at the Leighton Criminal Courthouse.
Zuniga is accused attacking the woman after entering a home in the 5400 block of West Ohio Street on April 16.
Besides the attempted charge, Zuniga also faces charges of home invasion, domestic battery, armed robbery and burglary.
