A man has been charged with DUI after a crash on the Kennedy Expressway near the West Loop that killed two people in March, according to Illinois State Police.
Isaiah Olivas, 27, faces charges of two counts of aggravated driving under the influence involving death and two counts of aggravated driving under the influence causing great bodily harm, state police said. He turned himself in to police Monday.
At 1:46 a.m. March 15, Olivas hit a sedan that was broken down in the left lane of I-90 southbound near Randolph Street, state police said. Two of the sedan’s occupants, Rashad Dean and Nadinah Cunnings, later died.
Olivas and the other two sedan passengers were also hospitalized, state police said.
Olivas was ordered held at a detention hearing, according to state police.
