A man was killed and a woman was wounded in a drive-by shooting Friday afternoon in North Lawndale, police said.
The man, 27, standing near the street in the 3400 block of West 16th Street around 12:40 p.m. when he was approached by two vehicles and people inside started shooting, Chicago police said in a statement.
The man was struck multiple times, and a 56-year-old woman standing nearby was shot twice in her back, police said.
The pair was taken to Mt. Sinai Hospital, where the man was pronounced dead and the woman was listed in fair condition, police said. Additional details were not released.
