Police are investigating the death of a man found shot and stabbed Wednesday in a South Loop fire, according to Chicago police.
Officers responded to a call of a fire at 5:11 p.m in the 1300 block of South Wabash Avenue and found the man, who had been shot in his head and cut on his neck, police said. The man also was suffering from smoke inhalation. He died later at Northwestern Memorial Hospital.
A weapon was recovered at the scene, police said. No one is in custody.
