A man was killed after he was struck by a vehicle while attempting to cross the street early Saturday morning in the Gold Coast neighborhood.
The man, 23, was walking on the sidewalk when he crossed onto the southbound lanes in the 1500 block of North DuSable Lake Shore Drive around 1:10 a.m., Chicago police said.
He climbed over the median and was hit by a blue car traveling north, police said. He was taken to Northwest Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. His name has not been released.
Police said the driver of the car stayed at the scene of the crash, and no citations were issued.
