A man was seriously injured and a woman was missing after a vehicle drove into the Little Calumet River early Tuesday in West Pullman on the Far South Side.
The vehicle, which was occupied by five adults, was in the 13000 block of South Indiana Avenue around 2:30 a.m. when it lost control, struck a barrier and fell into the water, Chicago police said.
One man was rescued by the marine unit and was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center in serious condition, police said.
A woman was missing and a search for her continued, officials said.
Three others were able to make it to land safely and were treated by Chicago Fire Department officials, police said.
The Major Accidents Investigation Unit were investigating.
