OROVILLE — A former Sycamore Junior High School teacher pled no contest to unlawful sex with a minor, according to a media release by Butte County District Attorney Mike Ramsey.
Michelle Christine Solis
The former school teacher — Michelle Christine Solis, 46, of Gridley — entered no-contest pleas Tuesday at Butte County Superior Court to sex charges that also included sending harmful photos to a minor.
According to Ramsey, her charges stem from conduct with a 14-year-old boy in 2021 during his eighth-grade year at Sycamore.
Evidence obtained by Gridley police alleged that Solis followed the boy on social media, sent him messages and explicit photos of herself weeks before graduation, then had sex with the boy on graduation day, according to the release.

Explicit photos and rumors of Solis circulated the Gridley community in October 2023, which prompted Gridley police to pursue investigation and contact the boy, the release said.
Solis was arrested Nov. 13, 2023 and is out on a $15,000 bail until her sentencing scheduled June 6 at 1:30 p.m.
Solis, as part of her plea, agreed that she would be registered as a sex offender, and she faces up to four years in state prison, according to the release.
