The public is urged to avoid the area around Evanston Township High School which went on “precautionary soft lockdown” Thursday afternoon when a shooting erupted at a park nearby, according to police.
No one was injured during the shooting at Mason Park, which is located at Florence and Mason avenues, according to police. Evanston high, 1600 Dodge Ave., is around the corner.
“Please avoid the area. This is an active investigation,” police said on X.
