Southport murderer Axel Rudakubana has appeared in court after allegedly throwing boiling water mixed with sugar at a prison officer.
The 20-year-old also allegedly sharpened stone shards, which were found hidden on the underside of a shelf.
Rudakubana allegedly threw the boiling liquid at the guard through the hatch on his cell door at infamous Belmarsh prison on May 8 last year.
Quick medical help given to the officer ‘prevented lasting injury,’ Westminster Magistrates’ Court heard today.
After the alleged attack, he accused prison officers of poisoning his food.

Rudakubana had allegedly threatened to ‘soak’ a female guard outside his cell two days earlier if she didn’t hand him a newspaper.
He is said to have then thrown an ‘unknown liquid’ at her, but the officer was unhurt, according ot prosecutor Catherine Pattison.
Another incident on October 28 last year saw him allegedly punch a male officer ‘who had challenged the defendant when he had attempted to walk past officers seeking to establish if he had taken certain medication,’ the court heard.
And in June last year, Rudakubana allegedly sharpened pieces of stone ‘seemingly prised from the floor of the defendant’s cell.’
When quizzed by an officer, he said that ‘he was keeping them for self-defence,’ the prosecutor said.
Rudakubana is charged with attempting to cause GBH, two counts of assaulting an emergency worker and possession of an offensive weapon in prison.
He is serving a life sentence for the murders of Alice da Silva Aguiar, nine, Bebe King, six, and Elsie Dot Stancombe, seven, and attempted murder of eight other children and two adults at a Taylor Swift-themed dance party on July 29, 2024, when he was 17-years-old.
Rudakubana, who grew up in Lancashire, was transferred from jail to the Broadmoor psychiatric hospital.
During today’s hearing via a video link, he rested his head on his hand. He was not asked to enter pleas.
He was remanded in custody and is due to appear at the Old Bailey on October 19.
