Suspect named in Antioch homicide

Antioch Police detectives have identified the suspect in the fatal shooting of an Antioch woman earlier this year.

The department identified 21-year-old Zahvon Hopson as the suspect in the Feb. 19 shooting of 20-year-old Dimon Commodore. Antioch police officers found Commodore with at least one gunshot wound in the 2200 block of Sycamore Avenue about 7:15 p.m. She died at the scene.

The department said Hopson, who remains at large, was identified through a combination of video surveillance, witness statements and forensic evidence.

Authorities said Hopson should be considered armed and dangerous and advised members of the public not to confront him. They encouraged anyone who sees Hopson or has information regarding his whereabouts to call 911 immediately.
