POLICE have arrested a teenager in Ammanford following “threats involving a firearm” – just hours after a triple school stabbing.
Officers executed a warrant at an address in the Cross Hands area of the town overnight and a BB gun was recovered.

A teenage boy remains in police custody following the raid at the Carmarthenshire home.
A Dyfed-Powys police spokesperson said: “An arrest has been made in the Ammanford area overnight, following threats involving a firearm.
“A warrant was executed at an address in the area, and police have recovered a BB gun.
“The teenage boy remains in police custody.
“If you, or your children, are distressed by these events, please seek support from an appropriate agency.”
It comes as two teachers and a schoolgirl were stabbed after a 14-year-old girl “went mad” and launched a bloody rampage at Amman Valley School on Wednesday.
She was eventually restrained and disarmed by hero teacher Darrel Campbell.
Drama and Welsh teacher Fiona Elias, who is also the head of year seven, was rushed to hospital after being knifed in the neck.
A second teacher, Liz Hopkin, 53, who works with special needs students, was stabbed four times.
She is “quite seriously hurt” but has since been discharged from hospital, her husband John said.
The colleagues are said to be recovering and are “lucky to be alive”.
The schoolgirl, believed to be in Year 9, was arrested at the scene and remains in custody.
Darrel Campbell does not think of himself as a hero, his brother has said.
Cefin Campbell, the Senedd member for Mid and West Wales, said: “He’s embarrassed by all the attention that he’s had, he certainly doesn’t consider himself a hero in any way.
“He just told me he just did what most people would have done – he acted instinctively, he saw the danger and took action.
“He really wants to play down anything more than just being a normal citizen, albeit a teacher in a school facing a very challenging situation.”
Superintendent Ross Evans added: “We would like to thank the many members of the public who reported concerns around messages they had seen online.
“This allowed us to take swift action in executing a warrant and arresting a suspect.
“While this investigation is being run separately to our enquiries into the major incident at Ysgol Dyffryn Amman yesterday, our officers will be seeking to establish both the credibility of the threats, and whether there was any connection between the alleged offences.
“Again, I would urge people not to speculate, not to share any images or videos relating to either investigation, and to allow us to carry out our enquiries fully.”
