Goldenvoice is bringing a new music festival to the Southern California coastline this fall.
The promoter behind the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival and Cruel World has announced the inaugural Ocean Way Festival, a two-day event set for Sept. 26-27 on Santa Monica Beach. Organizers describe it as the first major music festival to take place on the 11 a.m. beach and a celebration of music, food, wellness, design and beach culture.
The debut lineup will be led by The Killers and Olivia Dean, alongside performances from Jack White, Khruangbin, Sublime, Durand Jones & The Indications, Alvvays, SG Lewis, Hiatus Kaiyote and more.
Tickets go on sale to the general public at 11 a.m. July 23, with a Santa Monica residents’ presale beginning at 11 a.m. July 22 at oceanwayfestival.com. Two-day general admission passes start at $399, while Premium Pit passes begin at $749. Payment plans and hotel packages are also available.
The festival will stretch across the sand between the Santa Monica Pier and Bay Street, with two stages featuring a mix of rock, soul, indie and electronic music. Organizers in a recent news release stated that the event will include a main stage, a smaller secondary stage and gathering spaces designed to reflect the area’s beach culture.
According to Goldenvoice, the festival takes its name from Ocean Way, the Santa Monica street that became synonymous with the famed Ocean Way Recording studios. Company officials described the event as both a new festival and a return to a city that played an important role in the promoter’s early history.
Ocean Way Festival was developed in partnership with the City of Santa Monica and will serve as a centerpiece of the city’s new beachfront event district, which is expected to host major gatherings tied to upcoming events including the FIFA World Cup and the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
