The Offspring, Circle Jerks and Adolescents are among the Southern California punk bands coming together for a benefit concert for T.S.O.L. founding bassist Mike Roche, who has been battling Parkinson’s disease.
The all-ages benefit will take place Saturday, Nov. 7, at Garden Amp in Garden Grove, with Guttermouth, Death By Stereo, Love Canal, The Mainliners and Dissension also on the lineup. The show begins at 1:30 p.m.
Roche co-founded T.S.O.L. in the late 1970s and remained with the group as its lineup and sound evolved throughout the 1980s.
The benefit will also include a special performance from Change Today, which reunites T.S.O.L. guitarist Ron Emory and former vocalist Joe Wood to revisit music from the band’s 1984 album “Change Today?” Roche played bass on the record, which featured songs including “Blackmagic,” “Flowers by the Door,” “Red Shadows” and “American Zone.”
The concert was organized to raise money for Roche’s care and quality of life as he continues living with Parkinson’s disease. According to organizers, 100% of proceeds from the event will go directly to Roche. Artist Shepard Fairey is also creating a one-off concert poster that will be available at the show, while Garden Amp donated the venue for the benefit.
Tickets go on sale at 9 a.m. Friday, Sept. 18 at Ticketweb.com. A GoFundMe has also been established for those who cannot attend but would like to contribute at gofundme.com.
